Dr. McIlveen has provided exceptional patient care to the Herndon Community since 1996. Caring for children has always been her passion, and becoming a pediatric dentist has given her the opportunity to make a difference in many children’s lives, one smile at a time. It’s a privilege to watch her patients grow up in the practice while giving them beautiful smiles and the confidence to care and maintain their teeth for a lifetime.
Dr. McIlveen attended the School of Dentistry at Queens University of Belfast in Northern Ireland. She completed her residency and master’s degree in pediatric dentistry at the University of Minnesota. During the early years of her professional dental career, Dr. McIlveen pursued a career in dental education and held positions at major medical facilities, such as director of the Department of Dentistry at Children’s National Medical Center, associate professor at George Washington University, assistant professor at the University of Hong Kong and University of Tennessee, and the Craniofacial Anomalies Team at the Children’s National Medical Center and INOVA Fairfax.
Dr. McIlveen is an active member of the American Dental Association®, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), Virginia Dental Association, Northern Virginia Dental Society (NVDS), Board of Directors Delta Dental Plan of Virginia, Executive Committee NVDS, State Delegate, NVDS and Regional Media Spokesperson, AAPD.
Dr. McIlveen regularly attends continuing education courses to stay abreast of advances and innovations in her specialty. By utilizing the latest techniques and materials, she strives to achieve the best possible outcome for her patients.
