There are two essential ingredients needed to move teeth into proper alignment:
1) steady, gentle pressure and
2) time

To accomplish this, braces are attached to the teeth and wires are positioned in the brackets to produce a slight pressure on each tooth. During your treatment, Dr. Franklin will make monthly adjustments to maintain the directional pressure required to continue the movement of the teeth.

Mini-Metal: Today's orthodontic treatment is more patient-friendly than ever before. As you and Dr. Franklin consider your treatment options, mini-metal braces can be a great choice. They were designed with both patient comfort and clinical efficiency in mind. These braces are 30 percent smaller than traditional appliances, making them much more comfortable to wear, not to mention less noticeable on your teeth. The smooth, rounded contours also contribute to their comfort, while making it easier for you to maintain excellent oral hygiene.

Clear: For patients with cosmetic concerns, clear braces for the upper teeth are offered. The advantages of clear braces are a comfortable design, an attractive, translucent appearance and the self-confidence that comes from wearing braces that look as good as they perform. These braces won't stain or discolor, and they will stay securely in place throughout your treatment.
